Proprietary School Services
ASPD programs are available to support proprietary school adminstrators and faculty. 
 
ASPD may be able to offer these courses on-site for a proprietary school having 20 or more staff participating in a single course, pending instructor availability.
 
Proprietary school administrators responsible for professional development can count on ASPD to provide high-quality professional development that gives cosnideration to the wide range of professional preparation of faculty teaching in proprietary/technical schools.
 
Proprietary school faculty should check with your Dean/Director of Education to see if ASPD courses fulfill the continuing education/professional development requirements for your institution and its accrediting agencies.
 
Those seeking credit will successfully complete all workshop requirements and a final project.

Those who have not yet earned a Bachelors Degree may earn Undergraduate Credit for this course; those who have earned a Bachelors Degree may earn Graduate Credit.

Introduction to Proprietary School Teaching
(2 credit hours)
 
This introductory course is appropriate for new or experienced proprietary school educators who have never taken professional education courses and those new to working with non-traditional adult learners.
 
Content includes: exploration and application of principles of adult learning in proprietary education, Maslow's Hierarchy, Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development, learning styles research, 4MAT and other instructional models.

 

Advanced Methods for Effective Proprietary School Teaching  (2 credit hours)
 
This course is appropriate for anyone teaching in proprietary schools who has not pursued the study of teaching adults.
 
Content includes: advanced strategies for improving course design, lessons, assessment, and class management with emphasis on working with non-traditional, adult learners.
